Chapter and Team Competitions

Chapter Competition

  • Lowest average net score among the teams competing for each chapter. If a chapter has more than three teams registered, the first three teams that registered will compete in the competition.

Team Competitions

  • Lowest net score among the teams competing in Flight 1.
  • Lowest gross score among the teams competing in Flight 1.
  • Lowest net score among the teams competing in Flight 2.
  • Lowest gross score among the teams competing in Flight 2.

Competition Prize Distribution

  • In order to distribute prizes to more players in the field, teams will only be eligible for one prize in the above competitions. If a team wins more than one competition, they will be recognized as the winning team and the next eligible team will receive the prize.
  • The following examples illustrate how prizes will be distributed.
    • Example 1: If Team A is part of the winning chapter for the Chapter Competition and also has the lowest net score in their Flight, they will receive the Chapter Competition Prize (along with the other teams in their chapter). The team with the next lowest net score in that Flight who did not win the Chapter Competition Prize will receive the prize.
    • Example 2: If Team B has the lowest net score in their Flight and the lowest gross score their Flight, they will receive the Team Competition Prize for lowest net score their Flight. The team with the second lowest gross score in that Flight will receive the Team Competition Prize for lowest gross score that Flight.

Closest to the Pin Contests

There will be closest to the pin contests on all par 3 holes: Holes 3, 5, 12, and 14. In order to be eligible, your tee shot must land on the putting surface (not the fringe).

There will be two Divisions for closest to the pin:

  • Under 21: handicap index under 21.
  • At/Above 21: handicap index at or above 21.

Closest to the Pin Prize Distribution

  • Handicap index is used as of July 7, 2023 and is listed in the Golf Genius Portal.
  • The Closest to the Pin sheets will list the two divisions. Make sure you know the division you are in when you list your shot.
  • If no player from a division hits a green, the prize from that hole for that division will carry over to the next hole.  For example, if no player from the Under 21 Division hits the green on Hole 3, the Under 21 Division closest to the pin prize will carry over to Hole 5.

Best Dressed Team

  • The top two best dressed teams will be given prizes as judged by the Nor'easter Committee.

Great Shot!

  • Players who post fun and interesting pictures on the Golf Genius Portal during the tournament will be given prizes as judged by the Nor'easter Committee.
